Diigo

http://www.diigo.com/user/Erobrts I think Diigo is a great resource. I know I will use this when I become a teacher. This is a great resource for myself to keep things organized and find new ideas for teaching. If I teach older kids, I could have them use this for doing research so they could keep their information in one spot. I do not think that Kindergarteners could use this. I might use this as I am still a student for when I need to research things for papers to keep them together.

GoAnimate.com: Kindergarten Homework by erobrts

Like it? Create your own at GoAnimate.com. It's free and fun! I really liked this program. It would be good to be able to show kids what to do with different problems. It would also be helpful when teaching kids correct grammar and putting sentences together. The kids could use and make the people say sentences so I know that they can form sentences on their own.

I think Pixton would be fun for my students to work with. I want to work with Kindergarten, so they would like the pictures. I could make them type words in the comics and make them make complete sentences. I would also make a comic to get my point across for something in the science aspect.

Google Document Reflection

We created a Google Document where students can all interactively answer questions about a book. We made a table and created basic questions that a 1st-3rd grade class might be able to answer about the book we chose. With Google Documents, students can answer on their own time and at their own pace, and can also read what other students have read to help them. With a project like this when other students can see what everyone writes, it is probably a better idea to have questions that can be answered with an opinion rather than a real answer because otherwise, students might just copy off of the first person who answers the questions. Also, we're not really sure how well this type of activity would work with lower elementary but would definitely be an excellent tool for students in 5th grade and up. I really like Google Document because it is fun and easy to use and is also easy for students to use and a great way for them to see what their fellow classmates are writing.
